Codeine resembles morphine but is a lot milder. As a common ingredient in a cough medicine it has an anti-tussive action, but does not contain a strong enough dose to create any euphoric effects. Some psychological dependence may evolve due to the drug's elative and sedative effects.
This alkaloid is found in opium in concentrations ranging from 0.7 to 2.5 percent.
Also found in prescription cough syrup. Slows you down all around.

bad effects include itchiness (common with all opiates, this lasts the duration of the high), nausea, lowered libido (temporary and lasts the duration of the high), and constipation.
Common codeine side effects include:
feeling dizzy or drowsy;
nausea, vomiting, stomach pain;
mild itching or rash.
